Keker Collection

Originally conceived in 2020 and continuously developed through successive iterations, Keker Collection transforms reclaimed aluminium venetian blinds into a family of modular lighting objects. Once widely used in the sunlit architecture of southern Iran, these discarded materials are reimagined as contemporary lighting pieces that explore sustainability through design, craftsmanship and material memory.

Built from repeating linear elements, the collection combines modular construction with handcrafted fabrication. Each version interprets the same material and structural language in a different way, allowing the system to evolve across pendant and wall-mounted typologies while maintaining a unified identity.

The Pendant Lamp emphasizes openness and spatial diffusion, creating soft, layered illumination from suspended linear elements. The Wall Lamp folds the same reclaimed slats into a radial composition that projects rhythmic shadows across surrounding surfaces, transforming the wall into an active part of the lighting experience.

Rather than treating recycled material as a visual statement, Keker Collection explores how familiar objects can acquire new meaning through thoughtful design. Its name, Keker, is a poetic reinterpretation of kerkereh — the Persian word for venetian blinds — preserving the memory of the original material while giving it a renewed identity through light.
